Pilot Mountain – Larry Franklin “Frankie” Burcham, 49, of Pilot Mountain, passed away unexpectedly, on Saturday, December 11, 2021, at Atrium Health Wake Forest Baptist.
Mr. Burcham was born on June 20, 1972, in Forsyth County, NC, to Larry Wayne and Barbara Ann Clontz Burcham. Frankie started his firefighting career with Sauratown Volunteer Fire Department at the age of fourteen, he earned his way up to serve as the Captain of the Mount Airy Fire Department and was the former Stokes County Fire Marshall. Frankie was currently employed as a truck driver with Horton's Produce and Trucking in Fancy Gap, VA.
Frankie was an avid hunter and fisherman. He loved baseball, especially the Atlanta Braves, and he loved golf. He was a member of Mount Olive Baptist Church in King.
He was preceded in death by his grandparents, James and Nancy Clontz, and his grandfather, Willard Houston Burcham.
Left to cherish his memory are his parents, Larry and Barbara Burcham; his beloved wife, Missy Ricci Burcham; his daughter, Anna Burcham; stepdaughter, Jordan Moser; sister, Tracy Burcham Horton, and husband Wesley; two nephews: Reid and Seth Saunders; and his grandmother, Edith Pauline Burcham; along with several extended family.
The family will receive friends and loved ones on Wednesday, December 15, 2021, from 6:00 pm until 8:00 pm at Mount Olive Baptist Church 5413 NC 66 Hwy. S. King, NC.
Funeral services will be held at 2:00 pm on Thursday, December 16, 2021, at Mount Olive Baptist Church with Rev. Eddie Honeycutt officiating. Interment will follow in the church cemetery.
