Lucille Madeline (Boyce) Westmoreland

Lucille Madeline Boyce Westmoreland, 86, of King, NC passed away Thursday, November 30, 2023, at SECU Hospice House in Yadkinville, surrounded by her loved ones.

Mrs. Westmoreland was born in St. Albans, WV, on October 25, 1937, to the late Cecil and Edith Norvell Boyce. She was a homemaker that took great pride in caring for her family; whom she loved dearly; her neighbors and friends. She was a loving Wife, Grandma, and Memaw.

Lucille found joy in gardening, fishing, watching wildlife and birds; along with sewing and serving her church family at Mountain View Baptist Church.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her first husband Donald Burge, a grandson, Derek Burge, and siblings: Mary Boyce West, Genevie Hall Cagle, Raymond Boyce, and Wanda Boyce Barker.

Left to cherish her memory is her husband, Teddy Westmoreland; two sons: David Burge (Donna), and Tim Burge (Ginger); a daughter, Sandra Linnane (Edward Glick), two stepdaughters: Sonia Boles, and Serena Sharpe (Brent); eight grandchildren: Shannon Rose (Doug), Bradley Burge (Rae), Joel Linnane, Jr. (Avaloi), Sarah Linnane (Seth Johnson), Brandon Boles, Andy Boles, Joshua Sharpe (Colleen), and Austin Sharpe (Jenna); eight great grandchildren: David, Jonathan and Annie Rose, Ragan and Blake Burge, Zora Linnane, and Orion and Maxwell Johnson; along with several nieces and nephews.

The family will receive friends and loved ones on Monday, December 4, 2023, from 6:00 PM until 8:00 PM at Slate Funeral Home.

A graveside service will be held at 3:00 PM, on Tuesday, December 5, 2023, at Mountain View Baptist Church Cemetery with Rev. Jim Saul and Rev. Jerry King officiating.
