Margaret Ann (Alderman) Hill

Margaret Ann Alderman Hill, 87, of King, NC passed away peacefully at her home surrounded by her beloved family.

Margaret was born in Carrol County, VA, on July 9, 1935, to the late Edgar and Ruth Cockerham Alderman.  She was a child nutritionist with the Stokes County School system at Pinnacle Elementary School and was a member of Mount Olive Baptist Church. She loved gardening and canning, and she found great joy in spending time with her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband Jewell Lee Hill, and her sister, Shirley Sindlinger.

Left to cherish her memory are her children: Gary Hill and wife Melinda, Allan Hill, and wife Donna, and Lisa Smith and her husband Todd; her brothers: Bobby Alderman, and Ronnie Alderman and wife Audrey; two sisters: Brenda Goldberg and husband Barry, and Donna Gregory and husband Jay; five grandchildren: Brandi Leo, Lindsay Kiser, Ashley Roberts and husband Matt, Nikki Smith, and Tyler Smith; five great-grandchildren: Rylee Leo, Reagan Leo, Carson Kiser, McKinley Roberts, and Axel Roberts; along with her step-grandchildren: Krista Cranford and husband Jeb, and Jessica Brown; step-great-grandchildren: Kaylee Cranford, Chloe Cranford, and Jacob Cranford; and her fur baby Marley.

The family would like to thank Mountain Valley Hospice and Palliative Care for their kind and compassionate care and support for Margaret during her illness.

The family will receive friends and loved ones from 6:00 PM until 8:00 PM Thursday, February 2,  2023, at Mount Olive Baptist Church: 5413 NC 66 Hwy. S. King, NC.

A graveside funeral service will be held at 2:00 PM, at Mount Olive Baptist Church Cemetery on Friday, February 3, 2023, with Pastor Adam Tilley and Pastor Bob Lindsey officiating.
