Marie (Tilley) Cooke

Marie Tilley Cooke, 88, of King, NC passed away peacefully at her home, with her family by her side.

Mrs. Cooke was born on April 28, 1934, in Cana, VA, to the late Paul and Lessie Tilley. She was a faithful member of First Christian Church of King. 

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her beloved husband Roland Bernie Cooke; a grandson, Ryan Cooke; her brothers: Bernie Tilley, and Clinton Tilley; and her sisters: Pauline Dowell, Gladys Tilley, Pernie Thompson, Clara Tone, Magdalene Jones, and Margie Vaughn.

Left to cherish her memory are her children: Barry Roland Cooke (Tammy), Felesha Ann Hiatt (Tim), and Joey Lee Cooke; her grandchildren: James Cooke (Ashley), Jessica Welch (Michael), Austin Cooke, and Tyler Hiatt (Tracy); great grandchildren, Logan Cooke, Colbi Cooke, and Collins Welch; a step great grandchild, Grace Hiatt; a brother, James Tilley; and a sister, Anna Ruth Rakes.

The family will receive friends and loved ones from 5:00 PM until 7:00 PM on Saturday, June 4, 2022, at First Christian Church of King, funeral services will begin at 7:00 PM with Minister Peter Cain officiating. 

The graveside service will be held at 2:00 PM on Sunday, June 5, 2022, at First Christian Church cemetery.
