Marie Motsinger Obituary

Marie Alice Motsinger, a beacon of love and wisdom, passed away peacefully on March 18, 2025, at the age of 81, in her home of Forsyth County, NC. Born on May 29, 1943, in Forsyth County, NC to Charles Honeycutt and Vera (Whitlow) Honeycutt, Marie's life was a testament to the power of kindness, understanding, and an unwavering dedication to her family.

Marie's journey through life was shared with her beloved husband, Ewlyn "Jake" Motsinger, who stood by her side as a partner and best friend. Together, they raised a family that became Marie's pride and joy. Her daughter, Darlene Whitaker, her son, Adam Motsinger and his wife Denise, all benefited from her nurturing spirit and wise counsel. Marie's love extended to her brother, Jim Honeycutt and his wife Brenda.

Marie was preceded in death by her sister, Jewell Grenier, whose memory she held dear to her heart. Her legacy continues through her cherished grandchild, Brandi Nelson, her great-grandchildren, Ambria Masters, Christopher Nelson, and her great-great-grandchildren, John Masters, Jeremiah Masters, and Armaita Masters. Each of them was touched by Marie's boundless love.

Marie was a respected professional for Time Warner Cable. She was an avid gardener, possessing an encyclopedic knowledge of plants, able to identify them with just a glance. Her garden was a reflection of her inner beauty—colorful, vibrant, and full of life. It was in the quiet moments among her flowers that Marie found great solace and joy.

Marie's role as the "rock" of her family was undisputed. She was the peacekeeper, the one who could resolve conflicts with her gentle words and compassionate nature. Her ability to see the good in everyone and to approach life without judgment was a rare gift that made her the heart of her family.

Those who knew Marie would describe her as loving, wise, and passionate. Her warmth was felt by everyone she encountered, and her wisdom was sought after by those navigating the complexities of life. Her passion for her family, her garden, and her community was evident in everything she did.

Marie's fur babies, Heidi, Button, and Ziggy, were her constant companions, providing her with joy and comfort. They, too, will miss her presence and the love she showered upon them.

As we say goodbye to Marie Alice Motsinger, we celebrate a life lived with purpose and grace. She was a woman who inspired love and fostered peace, and her memory will continue to be a source of strength for all who were fortunate enough to know her. Marie's spirit, like the gardens she tended so carefully, will continue to bloom in the hearts of her family and friends for generations to come.

Marie's life was a beautiful tapestry woven with threads of kindness, understanding, and an unwavering commitment to those she loved. As we reflect on her life, we are reminded of the impact one person can have on so many. She will be deeply missed, yet her legacy will endure, a lasting tribute to a life well-lived.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorial contributions be made to Mountain Valley Hospice and Palliative Care.
