Mark Edward Winfrey

King, NC – Mark Edward Winfrey, 64, of King, NC passed away unexpectedly on Sunday, December 5, 2021, at Forsyth Medical Center.

Mark was born on November 13, 1957, in Forsyth County, NC, to the late Donald “Don” Edward Winfrey and Barbara Fulk Mabe. He was the owner of Winfrey Insurance Services in King, NC.  He was a member of First Christian Church of King, and the NRA, he was a former member of the King Masonic Lodge.  Mark was an avid collector of many things including, guns, arrowheads, coins, and Camel memorabilia.  He shared the hobby of ammunition reloading with his beloved grandsons.

In addition to his parents, Mark was preceded in death by a special grandmother, Mama Winfrey; several beloved aunts and uncle; and his beloved dog, Toby.

Left to cherish his memory is his wife of thirty-four years, Jackie Winfrey; two daughters: Katie Winfrey Poole, and Lauren Winfrey Byrd and husband William Tyler Byrd; a son, Hunter Grant Winfrey; three grandchildren: Luke Poole, Tyler Poole, and Lyra Byrd; along with his beloved pets: Casper, Griffin, and Coco.

The family will receive friends and loved ones from 1:00 pm until 2:00 pm on Friday, December 10, 2021, at First Christian Church, 625 Meadowbrook Dr. King, NC. 

The funeral service will begin at 2:00 pm, on Friday, December 10, 2021, at First Christian Church with Minister Glen Van Meter officiating.  Interment will follow at Mountain View Baptist Church Cemetery, 1042 Mountain View Church Rd. King, NC.
