Martha McGee Obituary

King – Martha Ann Shore McGee, 86, was granted her angel wings on Sunday, January 24, 2021.

She was born July 24, 1934 in Winston-Salem to John Herman and Annie Loe Shore and spent her childhood growing up in Yadkin and Forsyth counties.  In December 1956, she married Sgt. Bobby “Crow” McGee, beginning their journey as a career United States Air Force family, and fifty-eight years as husband and wife.

Martha will be remembered as the perfect compliment and spouse with Crow, a loving mother, daughter, sister, grandmother, great grand-nanny, and aunt who always sacrificed self for family, a “second mom” to her children’s many friends, a faithful worker and friend to her Trinity United Methodist Church family, and as a faithful servant to God, who let her walk speak louder than her words.  “Well done good and faithful servant, enter thou into the joy of thy Lord.”

Martha was preceded in death by her husband, parents, and brothers John R. (Norma) and Phil Shore.  She is survived by daughter Susan Wells (Rusty), sons Eddie (Anna), Jimbo, and Mike (Kellie)McGee, grandson Cullen Becker, granddaughter Emily Nagel (Bradley), great-grandson Faxon, Titus, and Atlas Nagel, brother William “Fred” Shore (Sandra), and many loving nieces and nephews.

The family would like to thank the staff at Priddy Manor Assisted Living for their love and care of mom over the past year and offer a special thank you to Gail Moses for her time and kindness during mom’s illness.

Martha will lie in state on Friday, January 29, 2021 from 11:00 AM until 2:00PM.

A graveside funeral services will be held at 3:00 PM at Trinity United Methodist Church with Rev. Parker Haynes officiating.
