Marvin Eugene Denny

King- Marvin Eugene Denny, 79, of King, North Carolina passed peacefully on Monday, February 8, 2021 at Kate B. Reynolds Hospice House in Forsyth County.

Mr. Denny was born on September 9, 1941 in Stokes County to the late Albert Caster Denny and Anna Campbell Denny. He was a self-employed carpenter at Lo-Mar Construction.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Lois Denny, sisters Etta Marion, Helen Newman, and Minnie Lee Winfrey, and brothers Albert Caster Denny Jr., Johnny Paul Denny, and Sampson Gray Denny.

Left to cherish his memory are his daughters from his first wife Barbara Jo Childress; Peggy Jo White (Don), Lisa Denny Johnson (Scotty), and Ann Marie Denny, son Johnny McKnight, sister Annie Mae Barnes, grandchildren McKenzie Corrie Melton, Christopher Colt Melton, Dustin Shane Melton, Noah Landon Johnson, Nichole Hobson and Heather Marie McLean (Russell), as well as nine great grandchildren.

The funeral service will be held at 2:00 pm. on Friday, February 12, 2021 at Slate Funeral Home chapel and will be officiated by his daughters. Interment will follow the service at Boyles Chapel Primitive Baptist Church.   

Mr. Denny will lie in state from 11:00 am. To 5:00 pm. on Thursday, February 11, 2021 at Slate Funeral Home. Due to current restrictions, masks will be required, and social distancing guidelines must be followed.
