Mary Jane (Collins) Melaga

Mary Collins Melaga,66, of Pfafftown passed away surrounded by her loving family on Saturday November 13, 2021 at her home.

Born in Patrick County, Virginia, she was the daughter of the late James and Myra Coffer Collins and was preceded in death by her brother David Lee Collins.

Mary loved flowers and working in her yard and especially loved taking rides on the Blue Ridge Parkway. Mary was a member of Woodland Baptist Church and was retired from Bowman Gray School of Medicine after 36 years of service.

Left to cherish  her memory is her beloved husband of 48 years Ronald Melaga, daughters; Amy and Heather Melaga, twin brother James (Sue) Collins, sister; Diane (Gary) Parrish. Grandchildren; Taylor Holliman, Brady, Aiden, and Leah Danley also surviving; great granddogs Bentley and Lucy.

A graveside funeral service will be held at 2:00pm on Thursday November 18, 2021 at the Hard Bank Cemetery in Danbury, NC, with Rev. David Smith officiating.

In lieu of flowers the family asks for memorials to be made to Trellis Supportive Care, 101 Hospice Ln. Winston Salem, NC  27103.
