Mary Ollie (Holder) Smith

Pilot Mountain – Mary Ollie Holder Smith, 81, of Pilot Mountain, NC passed away peacefully on Monday, June 12, 2023, at Walnut Cove Health and Rehabilitation.

Ms. Smith was born on September 25, 1941, to the late Sion and Mary Louise Nelson Holder.  She worked for many years as a cosmetologist. Mary was a very appreciative person; she was thankful for all she had in her life and was content with the simple things and had a great sense of humor. She dearly loved her children and grandchildren.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her brother, Gray Holder, and her son-in-law, Randy Wallace.

Left to cherish her memory are her daughters: Gwendolyn Wallace and fiancé John Lucas, Vicki Lerma, and Jody Hardin; her sister, Betty Hicks, her grandchildren: Kimberly (Chris), Laurie (Corey), Kyle, Kevin, Leah (John), Tabitha, Elizabeth, Ryan (Tanicia), Andrea (Justin), and Laural, and her great-grandchildren: Brenya, Cohen, Christopher, Chandler, Lillian, Alexander, Annabelle, Dawson, Mattie, Gracey, Lilly, Eli, LayAnna, DeMarcus, Anna, Halle, Rhiannon, Eli, and Zoe.

The family will receive friends and loved ones on Wednesday, June 14, 2023, from 5:00 PM until 7:00 PM at Slate Funeral Home in King, NC

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 AM on Thursday, June 15, 2023, at Slate Funeral Home. Interment will follow at Gardens of Memory in Walkertown, NC.
