King – Mary Louise Spencer, 88, of King passed away at Rose Tara Senior Living surrounded by her loved ones.
Mrs. Spencer was born on February 2, 1932, in Rockingham County, to the late John Garrett and Mary Jones Chumley. She was a homemaker that loved caring for her family and others; she never met a stranger. She was of the Primitive Baptist Faith.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her beloved husband of forty-nine years, Paul Franklin Spencer; her sons: Paul Franklin Spencer, Jr., and Patrick Wayne Spencer; a sister, Lois Collins; and brothers: James Chumley, Cleo Chumley, Clifton Chumley, Wade Chumley, and Irvin Chumley.
Left to cherish her memory is her daughters: Debora Parrish (Mark), and Judy Tuttle; daughter-in-law, Teresa Spencer; grandchildren: Brandy Wilder, Krystal Ryggs, Kayla Willis, James Spencer, Dakota Parrish, April Tuttle, and Kimberly Tuttle, along with seventeen great grandchildren.
A special thank you to Rose Tara for not only caring for Mrs. Spencer, but for being like family.
Mrs. Spencer will be available for viewing on Monday, January 11, 2021 from 11:00 AM until 5:00 PM at Slate Funeral Home. Due to the current restrictions, no family will be present.
A graveside service will be held at 2:00 PM in Guilford Memorial Park: 6000 West Gate City Blvd. Greensboro, NC, on Friday, January 15, 2021, with Pastor Gary Adkins officiating.
