Mary Louise (Manring) Stevens

Mary Manring Stevens, 86, of King, NC passed away on April 30, 2023, at Forsyth Memorial Hospital in Winston Salem, NC.

Born in Stokes County, NC, she was the daughter of the late Arthur and Lucille Oakley Manring and was the widow of the late Archie Lee Stevens. Following her retirement from the Hastings Company, Mary worked as a secretary for Dr. James. Mary loved spending time with her family, traveling to the beach and mountains, cooking, baking, reading, doing word puzzles, and crocheting.  She was a member of King First Baptist Church, where she had served as treasurer.

Left to cherish her memory are her daughters; Cynthia Clary (Jason) and Christy Stevens Bennett, and a sister; Joy Wall. Also surviving are four grandchildren: Briana Bennett, Zack Bennett, Miranda Clary, and Maddison Clary.

The family will receive friends Wednesday, May 3, 2023, from 12:00 pm until 2:00 pm. Funeral services will begin at 2:00 pm in the Slate Funeral Home Chapel. Interment will follow at King Memorial Gardens.
