Mary Frances Watts, 92, of King, NC, passed away peacefully on Saturday, July 12, 2025, at Novant Health Forsyth Medical Center.
Frances was born in Forsyth County on April 15, 1933, to the late Dewey Augustus and Madeline Hauser Long. She was a faithful member of First Baptist Church of King for many years, until she became unable to attend. She retired from Hanes Hosiery after 35 years of service. She was a beloved wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and sister In addition to her parents, Dewey and Madeline, she was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Billy Wayne “Bill” Watts; her siblings: Kay Tuttle (Marvin), Barbara Watts (John), and a sister-in-law, Joanne Long.
Left to cherish her memory are her daughter, Lu Livengood (Max), grandchildren: Joshua Livengood (Kristin), and Adam Livengood (Ashley); great-grandchildren: Maddox Livengood, and Ela Livengood; two brothers: Jerry Long and Wayne Long (Carol); a sister-in-law, Jean Hunter, a brother-in-law, Dan Nance; along with several nieces and nephews.
The family will receive friends and loved ones on Wednesday, July 16, 2025, from 10:00 a.m. until 10:45 a.m. at Slate Funeral Home.
A graveside service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, July 16, 2025, at King Memorial Park with Alex Reale officiating. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to The First Baptist Church of King Cemetery Fund, P.O. Box 481, King, NC 27021.
