Matilda Christine (McCreary) Hale

Matilda Christine McCreary Hale, 73, of Pilot Mountain, NC, passed away unexpectedly Saturday, June 7, 2025, at Wake Forest Baptist Medical Center in Winston-Salem. Christine, as she was known by all that knew her, was born on January 8, 1952, in Stokes County to Thomas Fenton and Ada Jane Essick McCreary. She was a loving wife to her late husband, Kelly Lee Hale, mother to 2 sons, grammy to 3 beloved grandchildren, sister to 4 brothers, pet lover to many animals, and Bus Driver to 100’s of Nancy Reynolds Elementary School Students.

Christine enjoyed fishing with Kelly when her health still allowed it and loved watching NASCAR racing on TV. She cherished her grandchildren and loved the time that she was able to spend with them.

In addition to her Husband, Christine was preceded in death by her parents, brother Russell Lee McCreary, and sister-in-law Becky Lawson McCreary (Melvin).

She is survived by son and daughter-in-law Michael Kiser and wife Renee, and son Nicholas Kiser; her three grandchildren Roy Beth, Allee Glenn, and Sam Kiser; her brothers Melvin McCreary, Alfred and wife Joann McCreary, Leonard and wife Pam McCreary, sister-in-law Naomi McCreary (Russell), as well as sister-in-law and husband Sammie and Ira Bray; and several nieces and nephews.

The family will receive friends and loved ones from 11:00 a.m. until 12:00 p.m. on Friday, June 13, 2025, at Brim’s Grove Baptist Church, with the funeral service beginning at 12:00 p.m. with Rev. Dr. Jeremy Pegram and Rev. Todd Caudle officiating. Interment will immediately follow in the church cemetery.
