Michael Devin Parrish, 40, went to his Heavenly home on May 28, 2022. Devin was born in Forsyth County on June 21, 1981.
He is survived by his parents George and Dottie Parrish, his wife of 15 years, Courtney Goff Parrish, his daughter Elizabeth Grace ¨Grayce¨ Parrish, his son Jackson Fuller ¨Jack¨ Parrish, his sister Lindy Blanchard (Jamie), sister-in-law Rebekah Capizzani (Mike), and brother-in-law Ben Goff (Megan). Also surviving are his nieces Kaitlyn Mixon (Darien), Penelope Ann ¨Poppy¨ Capizzani, and Elizabeth Manly, in addition to his nephews Alex Dean (Jenn), Jamie Blanchard, William Blanchard, Robert Blanchard, Brandon Blanchard, and great-nephew Dayton Alexander Mixon.
Devin was a huge UNC Tar Heels and Atlanta Braves fan, in addition to professional wrestling, a love he shared with his daughter, Grayce. He never met a stranger and could strike up a kind conversation with anyone at a moment's notice. He remembered every important birthday and anniversary and never missed an opportunity to make a phone call to friends and family on their special days. He had a love for classic country, Adam Sandler and John Candy movies, mocha frappes, Fox News, and anything to do with helping people.
Devin loved God and Jesus with his whole heart. His wife and children were his entire world and he valued family above all else. Devin was a hopeless romantic and always knew Courtney was his soulmate and partner in everything. He made sure to tell her how much she meant to him and how much he loved her every day. The biggest part of Devin’s heart was occupied by his two amazing children. Grayce was his ¨baby girl¨ and his biggest supporter. He loved to watch her dance and was inspired by her unwavering faith in God. Jack was his spitting image in looks, mannerisms, and attitude. Devin was immensely proud of his son and couldn't wait to tell anyone who would listen about his accomplishments. He fought so many struggles and setbacks in his life, but always knew he had his 3 biggest champions with him through it all.
The family would also like to thank Devin’s best friend of 35 years, Steven Boles, for his unwavering friendship and support, in addition to his special cousin Joseph Parrish and wife Ashley for many treasured phone calls and memories. The family also wants to recognize the following people that were close to Devin’s heart: Danny Dean, Melissa Dean, Tyson Hollister, Adam Spainhour, Jeremy Parker, Ian McHone, Steven Ashburn, Chris Eakin, Brad Sturgill, Joe and Adrian Ramsey, Regina McMillian, Ted and Jessie Renzi, Nicole Durham, and Keith Williams.
A Celebration of Life service will take place at 3pm on Friday, June 3, 2022, at First Christian Church in King, NC, with Pastor Gerald Jones and Pastor Keith Williams officiating. The family will receive friends immediately following the service. Flowers will be accepted, or the family would be honored if a donation was made in Devin’s name to Stokes County Special Olympics or The American Kidney Fund.
