Nancy Jane (Boles) Brady

Brady, Boles Jane Nancy, age 79, born July 13, 1943, to the late Morris and Jane Boles. Nancy was a graduate of King High School. After graduating she went on to Brevard College then obtained her degree at Wake Forest University.

After she graduated from Wake Forest University, she began her 30-year career in education as a Chemistry and Physics teacher. She taught at South Boston, Virginia, North Surry High School and retired from Western Guilford High School in Greensboro. She was awarded several prestigious awards throughout her career in education. She left an everlasting impact on every student she taught. During her time as an educator, she also owned Little Folks Daycare where she touched the lives of many young children.

After retiring from education, she acquired her real estate license and later owned her own company, Nancy Brady Realty. She helped many people in Stokes and surrounding counties fulfill their dream of owning a home.

Throughout her years as a Stokes County native, she provided a great service to the community each year during the holiday season. She faithfully decorated her home for each holiday throughout the year, but the love of Christmas was forever felt by many citizens of counties near and far with the display at Brady’s Country Christmas.

She is survived by her husband of 48 years, Ricky Maurice Brady, Son Robert Brady, Daughter Elizabeth (Erik) Howard, Sister Vicki Wray, Brother Johnny Boles (Nancy) and her two grandchildren Emma and EJ Howard.

Funeral services will be held at Pinnacle UMC on Sunday, January 1, 2023, at 2:00 pm. The family will receive friends from 6 to 8pm at Slate Funeral Home in King, NC on Saturday December 31, 2022.

A special thanks to her loving granddaughter Emma Howard for the care she has provided for her Nana. Also, we send our thanks to Mountain Valley Hospice Care.

Nancy will forever live in our hearts as she was the glue to our family and the most important piece to our puzzle.
