Nellie Gertrude (Smith) Long

Nellie Gertrude Long, 93, of Tobaccoville passed away on Friday, December 20, 2024, at Oak Forest Rehab in Winston Salem, NC.

Born in Stokes County, she was the daughter of the late Early McCoy and Nancy Nora Tilley Smith, and the widow of the late Calvin Long.

Left to cherish her memory is her daughter, Robin Long Darnell(Steve), Michael Long (Brandi) and sister, Peggy Butner. Also, her grandchildren, Cory Darnell, Taylor Darnell, Megan Swain (Caleb), Madison Long and two great grandchildren, Calvin Darnell and Brady Darnell.

A graveside service will be held at 2:00 pm on Monday, December 23, 2024, at the Mount Pleasant Methodist Church Cemetery in Tobaccoville, NC with Elder Jeff Whittaker officiating.

In lieu of flowers the family request memorial contributions to be made to Liberty Home Care and Hospice.
