Raiford Maurice Burrow of Walnut Cove, NC, went home to be with his Lord on January 12, 2025, at Stokes County Nursing Home.
He was born on July 15, 1930, to Chester and Lottie Burrow. He graduated from Midway High School and worked for Dixie Furniture. Raiford also worked at Western Electric and AT&T in the machine shop and then in the guard force.
He was preceded in death by his parents, his brothers Roger, Argie, Wesley, Carlton, and Joe, his sister Roxie Tesh Lanier, and his great-grandson Nathaniel Waters.
Surviving are his wife of 75 years, Norma Jean Fulp Burrow, his children: Marilyn Venable, Annette Cline (Robert), and Olyn Burrow (Pamela); grandchildren: Michael Venable (Shanin), Kristie Waters (Jamie), T.J. Heath, Joshua Heath (Bethany), and Heather Burrow (Carl Schweppe); great-grandchildren: Micah Venable, Autumn Waters, Matthew Waters, and Colby Heath; great-great-grandson, Greyson Venable.
Raiford faithfully served as Sunday School Superintendent of Central Tabernacle Church for many years.
On Thursday, January 16, the family will receive friends from 12:00 p.m. until 1:45 p.m. at Slate Funeral Home Chapel in King, with the funeral service to follow. The burial will follow at
Haw Pond Church of Christ in Germanton.
The family would like to thank the doctors, nurses, and staff at Stokes County Nursing Home for all of the kindness and dedication shown.
