Ralphine Newsom, a cherished mother, grandmother, and friend, passed away on January 3, 2025, at the age of 92. Born on March 9, 1932, to Ralph and Sally Simpson, Ralphine lived a life marked by love, dedication, and the joy she found in the simple pleasures of life.
Ralphine was the wife of the late Leonard "Jim" Newsom. She is survived by her loving daughters, Toni Yates and her husband Steve, Kelly Todd and her husband Tommy, and Tammy Watson and her husband Al. Ralphine's legacy continues through her grandchildren, Adam Yates, Clay Yates, Wesley Todd, Amber Todd, and Megan Guthmann, 18 great grandchildren and one great great grandchild, who will carry her spirit forward. She was preceded in death by her special grandson, Brandon Todd, as well as her parents and two sisters and a brother.
Throughout her life, Ralphine's passion for dogs, particularly Dachshunds, was evident to all who knew her. Her humor was the hallmark of her existence, and her memory will be treasured by all who had the privilege of knowing her.
A private graveside service will be held at First Christian Church Cemetery.
