Tobaccoville – Rebecca “Becky” Spainhour Wall, 97, of Tobaccoville, left this earth on Thursday, July 15, 2021.
Mrs. Wall was born on August 19, 1923, in Forsyth County, NC to the late William Ernest and Glida Garner Spainhour. She exemplified the Proverbs 31 woman. The verse that stands out is verse 13, “She works willingly with her hands.” This was evident in her cooking, gardening, and sewing abilities. Her family meant everything to her. Anyone who knew her immediately knew she loved her Lord and Savior as she was quick to share her story of salvation with them and a word of encouragement.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Vernon D. Wall, and two sons, Vernon D., Jr., and Donald Wayne.
Left to cherish her memory are five grandchildren, nine great grandchildren, eighteen great-great grandchildren; a sister, Frances S. Hill; two brothers, Robert Dee Spainhour, and Kenneth Spainhour; and two daughters-in-law, Judy and Brenda Wall, along with a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
The family will receive friends and loved ones from 1:30 PM until 3:00 PM on Sunday, July 18, 2021, at Slate Funeral Home in King.
Funeral services will be held at 3:00 PM in the Slate Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Albert (Abby) Angell officiating. Interment will immediately follow at Tabernacle United Methodist Church in Tobaccoville.
