King – Rev. Jerry Milton Schronce, formerly of Sanford, NC, passed away on Friday, December 3, 2021, at Village Care of King.

Rev. Schronce was born on October 20, 1941, in Lincolnton, NC, to the late James and Mildred Abernathy Schronce. He received his master’s degree from Duke University and went on to serve several Methodist Churches throughout the North Carolina Conference. He was an avid outdoorsman and enjoyed hunting, fishing, skeet shooting, and gardening. He also raised hunting dogs. Rev. Schronce was the co-founder of the Sanford Gun Club.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his beloved wife of 51 years, Janet Hackney Schronce.

Left to cherish his memory is his daughter, Krista Rowan and husband Chuck; a sister, Kay Palmer and husband Russell; a brother, David Schronce and wife Debbie; along with his grandchildren, Megan Elizabeth Rowan and Chelsey Rowan Crawford and husband Nelson.
