Robert Covington Hall, 75, of King, NC, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, February 7, 2024, at Village Care of King.
Mr. Hall was born on September 4, 1948, in Forsyth County, NC, to the late Delbert O. and Hettie Covington Hall. Robert grew up in the shadow of Sauratown Mountain, hiking, swimming, and fishing at YMCA Camp Hanes. He loved his mountain home. Robert served on the Board of Directors at Camp Hanes. He was a faithful member of Mount Olive Baptist Church, where he served as a trustee, deacon, choir member, Sunday School teacher, and Baptist Men’s Director; he also served on the Youth and Senior Adult Councils; he enjoyed many trips with the senior adults, and loved the fall fishing trip to Oak Island. Robert retired from R.J. Reynolds Tobacco Company, where he traveled to 38 countries setting up Quality Assurance Labs.
Mr. Hall loved to tinker and could fix anything; he would volunteer to help anyone, and all of his friends and neighbors would bring their mowers to him for repair. He loved sitting on his porch drinking his coffee and would welcome anyone to come up and join him.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brothers: Johnny Hall (Ruth), Thomas E. Hall, and Mark J. Hall (Beth).
Left to cherish his memory are his wife, Kathy Johnson Hall; a son, Keith R. Hall (Amy); two sisters, Merri-Dell Crawford (Andy) and Carol Jayne Miller (Bobby), along with several nieces and nephews.
The family will receive friends and loved ones from 6:00 PM until 8:00 PM on Saturday, February 10, 2024, at Mount Olive Baptist Church.
A memorial service will be held at 2:00 PM on Sunday, February 11, 2024, at Mount Olive Baptist Church, with Pastor Eric Hardman and Rev. Eddie Honeycutt officiating.
The family would like to thank the staff of Village Care of King for all of their love and support for Robert and his family.
Flowers are appreciated, or memorial donations may be made to the Mount Olive Baptist Church Sanctuary Renovation Fund: 5413 NC 66 Hwy. S. King, NC 27021.
