Robert "Buster" Joseph Robertson

Robert “Buster” Joseph Robertson, 90, of King, NC, passed away peacefully on Thursday, April 30, 2026, at Village Care of King, with his beloved family by his side.

Mr. Robertson was born on October 20, 1935, in Stokes County, North Carolina, to the late Joe and Moneda Slate Robertson. Throughout his life, he dedicated himself to his community and family, proudly owning Robertson’s Variety Store. A committed member of Capella Church of Christ, he was the oldest living member, embodying a lifelong faith. His public service included roles as Tax Administrator for Stokes County and a 16-year tenure as County Commissioner, reflecting his deep commitment to local governance. Additionally, he was a Real Estate Broker and unwaveringly supported his political beliefs as a lifelong Republican and member of the Republican Men’s Club.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife of 70 years, Barbara Thomas Robertson, and his brothers, Jimmy Robertson, Larry Robertson, and Bruce Robertson.

Left to cherish his memory are his sons, Vic Robertson and Von Robertson, and his wife, Lisa; his brother, Frank Robertson, and his wife, Nancy; and his granddaughter, Lizzy Robertson.

The family sincerely thanks Patty Shelton for her heartfelt care and compassion for Buster during his time of need.

The family will receive friends and loved ones on Thursday, May 7, 2026, from 5:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. at Capella Church of Christ.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, May 8, 2026, at Capella Church of Christ, with Ministers Donald Davis and Jim Miller officiating. Interment will immediately follow in the church cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Capella Church of Christ Cemetery fund, 1187 Flat Shoals Rd. King, NC 27021.
