Roger Dale Moore, 71, of Tobaccoville, NC, passed away on Thursday, February 5, 2026, at his home.
Mr. Moore was born in Forsyth County, NC, on August 29, 1954, to the late Homer and Earlene Puckett Moore. He was a heavy equipment operator who also worked farming tobacco and cattle; he was not a man afraid of an honest day's labor.
Roger's warm personality made him a stranger to no one, and his love for playing the drums—evident in his time with the band Renegade—reflected his appreciation for music and community. He cherished his family, friends, and his dog, finding joy in the simple, meaningful moments that shaped his life.
Left to cherish his memory are his beloved wife of 34 years, Teresa McHone Moore, a daughter, Patricia Boles (David); three grandchildren: Taylor Lynch (Tyler), Luke Boles, and Brantlee Boles; a great-grandchild, Tinsley Lynch; his dog, Hope; and his brothers-in-law, sisters-in-law, extended family, and friends.
The family will receive friends and loved ones at Slate Funeral Home on Wednesday, February 11, 2026, from 1:00 p.m. to 2:00 p.m. A celebration of life will be held at 2:00 p.m., with Pastor Tommy Holder officiating.
