Roger Eugene "Gene" Newsome

Roger Eugene “Gene” Newsome, 77, of King, NC passed away on Thursday, November 16, 2023, at his home surrounded by loved ones.

Gene was born in Stokes County, NC on December 24, 1945, to the late Elbert and Katie Lee Smith Newsome. In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his sister, Jewel Newsome Dotson.

Left to cherish his memory is his beloved wife of fifty-four years, Kathy Howell Newsome; his son, Tony Newsome, and partner Kasandra Smith; his brothers: Brandly, Darrell, and Joseph; his sisters: Lani, Polly, and Patti; along with many nieces and nephews.

A graveside service will be held at 3:00 PM on Saturday, November 18, 2023, at First Christian Church of King.
