Roger Kent Strickland

Roger Kent Strickland, 78, of King, NC, passed away on Wednesday, February 14, 2024, at Village Care of King, surrounded by his beloved family.

Mr. Strickland was born on February 8, 1945, in Miami Dade County, FL, to the late John Henry and Mary McAfee Strickland. He bravely served his country in the US Army during the Vietnam War. He loved his family and spending time with them. He was mechanically inclined and loved to tinker with almost anything.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother, Ronnie, and two sisters, Karen and Becky.

Left to cherish his memory are his wife, Iris Strickland; his children: Ronald Wayne Strickland (Karen), John Henry Strickland, Roy Kent Strickland, Corena Rena Wolfe, Crystal Lynn Strickland, and Shane Daniel Strickland; his grandchildren: Selena, Sean, Steven, Savannah, Jordan, Chad, Mason, Dalton, and Atlas; two sisters: Colleen Velasco, Mary Elizabeth York, along with seven great-grandchildren.

The family wishes to extend their gratitude to the Purple Heart Homes, the DAV, American Legion Post 290, and the VFW for their help with their home repair needs.

A Celebration of Life will be held at a later date.
