Samuel Matthew Hill left his home peacefully and went to his heavenly home on Sunday, October 8, 2023. He was born January 16, 1941, in Forsyth County.

ttps://www.hdezwebcast.com/show/samuel-hill-serviceHe was preceded in death by his parents, James and Lola Hill, wife and mother of his children, Glenda Boles Hill, a daughter, Cheri Granger and infant sons Curtis and Taylor, and a brother, Alvin Hill.

Those left to cherish his memory is his wife Judy Hobson Hill, a daughter, Charlotte (Todd) Cartner, granddaughters, Rebecca (Bart) Shoaf, and great grandchildren: Noah and Lilly, a son, Timothy (Laura) Hill, and grandchildren, Jenna, Maggie, and Brody, two grandsons: Joey and Sam Grainger and their father, David. He is also survived by his stepchildren and their families, Bryan (Ashley) Smitherman, Wyatt and Yates, Rachel (Gine) Amato, Mikenna, Jace and Alana, Ashley (Samy) De la Criz, Noelia, Gabriel, Leo, Julissa, and Jennifer Cartner, McKenzi, Naomi, and many other cherished friends and family; as well as a special thanks to Trellis Care Nurse Jay Waldroup and care team.

The family will receive friends and loved ones from 1:00 PM until 2:00 PM on Thursday, October 12, 2023, at Slate Funeral Home. Funeral services will begin at 2:00 PM. Interment will follow at Boyles Chapel Primitive Baptist Church Cemetery
