Born on December 13, 1947, in Randolph County, NC, to the late Roy Junior "Bud" Cobbler and Annie Belle Turner Cobbler. Sandra’s journey was one of compassion, dedication, and a relentless commitment to making the world a brighter place for those around her.
Sandra, known for her thoughtful nature and warm heart, dedicated many years of service as a Claims Specialist with the North Carolina Department of Insurance. Her colleagues remember her as a pillar of support and a source of wise counsel. Her work was not just a job; it was an extension of her desire to assist and guide others through complex situations with grace and understanding.
Family was the cornerstone of Sandra's world. She is survived by her loving sister, Rhonda McDaniel, who will miss her dearly. Sandra's legacy continues through her stepdaughter, Sonia Preston, who saw in her a second mother and a guiding light. Her granddaughter, Crystal Burns (Daniel), and great-granddaughter, Kayley Burns, will forever cherish the memories and lessons imparted by Sandra. Her niece, Angela Burgess, and nephews, P.J. McCray (Tina) and Michael McDaniel (Elizabeth), will hold dear the moments of laughter and wisdom shared. Sandra was predeceased by her sister, Debbie McCray, with whom she now reunites in eternal peace.
Sandra's life was a testament to the power of creativity and the impact of a kind soul. Her artistic talents brought joy to many, and her thoughtful gestures created an atmosphere of love and comfort for her family and friends. A memorial service will be held at 11:00 am on Saturday, March 22, 2025, in the Chapel of the Slate Funeral Home in King, NC. The family will receive friends following the service.
