Obituary
Mrs. Sara Jo Staylor, 72, of King, NC, passed away in her home on August 2, 2023. Sara was born to the late Richard R Sponeybarger and Marjorie Boslet Sponeybarger on February 17, 1951, in Huntingdon, Pennsylvania.
Sara was a faithful wife to her husband of 54 years, Charles Carlton Cameron Staylor. She was also a loving and devoted mother, grandmother, great grandmother, sister, and friend. Sara dedicated her life to God and the service of others. She did hospital visits for the church and because of that, later became a CNA. She also provided a warm and caring environment for her family and friends. She touched the lives of many and was loved by many. During Sara’s free time you would find her caring for her animals such as: ducks, swans, geese, cats, dogs, fish, squirrels, deer, etc. You name it, she fed it, and it was fat!
Sara was preceded in death by her parents; Richard and Marjorie Sponeybarger, and her daughter; Holly Heather Hope Staylor.
Surviving are her husband; Charles Carlton Cameron Staylor, her son; Matthew Michael Mitchel (Kristen) Staylor, grandchildren; Faith (Stephen) Cuthrell, Andrea Staylor, Eli Staylor, and Ian Staylor, great-grandchildren; Stephen Cuthrell II, sister; Nancy Sponeybarger, brother; George (Maria) Sponeybarger, brother and sister in-laws; Dixon (Kathy) Shrum, William (Roxanne) Staylor Jr, Richard Staylor, and Marjorie Staylor, and many other loved nieces, nephews, and friends.
The family will receive friends and loved ones from 1:00 PM until 2:00 PM on Monday, August 7, 2023, at Slate Funeral Home in King, NC. The funeral service will be held at 2:00 PM on Monday, August 7, 2023, at Slate Funeral Home with Pastor John Devine officiating. Interment will immediately follow at Crestview Memorial Park in Rural Hall.
