Shirley Mary (Jones) Redman

Shirley Mary Jones Redman, 88, of King, NC, formerly of Brooklyn, NY, passed away on Wednesday, April 17, 2024, at her home with her family by her side.

Ms. Redman was born on December 30, 1935, in Brooklyn, NY, to the late William Remson and Elizabeth Schwartz Jones. She was an active member and volunteer with the Democratic Party of NY, a testament to her civic engagement. She found joy in simple pleasures, such as watching soap operas, listening to her favorite music, and dancing. She also had a competitive spirit, often besting her family in a game of penny bet cards.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, James Henry Redman, and her son, James Walter Redman.

Left to cherish her memory are her daughter, Mary Lupinacci her grandchildren, Jennifer Lupinacci, Christine Lupinacci (Curt Williams), Scott Lupinacci, and Courtney Lopez (Ernie); and her great-grandchildren: Bethany McCormack, David Clifford, Nicole Clifford, Taylor McCormack, Angelina Corbisiero, Maggie Lupinacci, Emma Williams, Juliana Lupinacci, and Riley Lupinacci.

The family will receive friends and loved ones on Tuesday, April 23, 2024, from 2:00 PM until 5:00 PM at Slate Funeral Home in King, NC.
