Shirley Ann Bennett Williams (80), of Germanton, entered eternal rest at Kate B. Reynolds Hospice Home on January 28, 2023, surrounded by her loving family. Shirley was born to Aaron Roscoe Bennett and Bessie Shelton Bennett of King on June 7, 1942.
In addition to her parents, Shirley was preceded in death by her loving husband, Wallace (Bud) Eugene Williams, and her son, Frederick Aaron Williams. She is survived by her son, Mark Anthony Williams, three precious grandchildren, Anna Williams, Ashley Bodenhamer (Mitch), and Amber Williams (Tim), and four loving great grandchildren, Saydee, Layne, Kasen, and Jensen.
Anyone who knew or had met Shirley, better known as Mammaw, recognized her hardwork and dedication to anything she put her time or talent into. She enjoyed cooking for her family, gardening, playing and watching sports of all kinds, and spending time with all her babies. Shirley graduated from King High School and pursued her CNA/Med Tech certifications thereafter. She worked for many years in assisted living facilities where she poured her heart into the many families she lovingly served. Shirley was a member of Friendship Baptist Church of Germanton, NC. Shirley (our Mammaw) was known for her quality hugs, her honesty, and her servant’s heart.
The family will receive visitors at Friendship Baptist Church on Tuesday, January 31st from 3:00 PM until 4:00 PM with a brief service to follow beginning at 4:00 PM. The burial will take place at Friendship Cemetery following the service.
The family would like to extend a special thanks to Trellis Supportive Care for their wonderful care and attention for our Mammaw.
In lieu of flowers, please provide a meal to someone in need, just like Mammaw always did.
