Stevenson David Roberts, 48, of King, NC passed away at Kate B. Reynolds Hospice Home, after a brave battle with ALS (Lou Gehrig’s Disease).

Mr. Roberts was born in Sullivan County, TN, on March 6, 1975, to Jerry Tatum and Louetta Roberts. He worked as a Brick Mason until he was no longer able. He loved music, was a New England Patriots fan, and he loved the military, especially the US Marines. He was of the Baptist faith.

He was preceded in death by his maternal grandparents, Jack, and Nellie Roberts.

Left to cherish his memory is his mother, Louetta Roberts; his father, Jerry Tatum; his sister, Linda Conner, and husband Chris; five brothers: Chapin Hemphill and wife Stefani, and Derrick Thomas and wife Lanora, John Garrett, Kenny Garrett, and Kelly Reed; along with several aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, and other family members.

The family will receive friends and loved ones on Saturday September 16, 2023, from 4:00 PM until 5:00 PM, at Slate Funeral Home in King.

Funeral services will be held at 5:00 PM on Saturday, September 16, 2023. At Slate Funeral Home.
