Thomas Randall Donavant

Rural Hall – Thomas Randall Donavant, 78, of Rural Hall, NC, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, November 26, 2025, at Woltz Hospice Home in Dobson, NC, with his beloved family by his side.

Mr. Donavant was born in Henry County, VA, to the late Arnold and Alice Johnston Donavant on June 18, 1947. He proudly served his country in the US Army Reserve. He was a dedicated employee and worked for many years as an operations manager in the construction industry. He was a member of Faith Church in Summerville, SC, where he faithfully served as an usher. He also served as a deacon for many other churches over the years. He enjoyed singing gospel music and also worked as a radio personality for WKCL 91.5 in Ladson, SC, playing his favorite music. He also enjoyed playing golf.

Left to cherish his memory is his loving wife, Sandra Church Donavant, his son, Randy Donavant (Heather), his grandchildren: Chase and Tyler Donavant, three brothers: Arnold Dwight Donavant (Johanna), Gary Donavant (Young), and John Donavant (Kathy), along with his nieces and nephews: Shannon Donavant, Hannah Strader, Kim Simpson, Lisa Ingram, Theresa Lovell, Chad Donavant, Dave Donavant, Mitchell Donavant, Larry Crowder, Patrick Crowder, Kyle Taylor, and Daryl Church, along with several other beloved family members.

The family will receive friends and loved ones at 1:00 p.m. at Slate Funeral Home in King. Funeral services will begin at 2:00 p.m. with Rev. Dr. Lavaughn Young officiating. Interment will immediately follow at King Memorial Park, King, NC.
