Thomas Gene Tenney

King – Thomas Gene Tenney, 68, of King, NC passed away on Monday, July 24, 2023, at Novant Health Forsyth Medical Center in Winston-Salem, NC.

Thomas was born on April 2, 1955, in Upshur County, WV, to the late Wilbert Mason and Nora Mae (Casto) Tenney.

Thomas was a member of Sand Run Baptist Church in Buckhannon WV. He loved woodworking, and working with his hands, he also enjoyed hunting and fishing. He kept his home, his lawn, and his truck in immaculate condition. He had worked as a miner previously and ran heavy equipment, he retired as a maintenance director from Homeplace Assisted Living of Newbern.

Thomas was a loving husband who lived for his family and loved his wife with all of his heart.

In addition to his parents, Thomas was preceded in death by his son, David Scott Tenney, and his brothers: Spurgeon Casto, James Tenney, and Charles Tenney.

Left to cherish his memory is his beloved wife, Judith Cardenas Tenney, a son, Bobby Allen Tenney (Sarah Jordan), his siblings: Virginia Howes (Franklin), Shirley Reger (Phillip), Robert Tenney (Linda), and Cindy DeBarr (Charles), two sisters-in-law: Mabel Casto, and Mary Tenney, five grandchildren: Devon Shaffer (Courtney), Dominic Tenney, Paige Tenney, Cole Tenney, and Lincoln Tenney, a great-grandchild on the way, his mother-in-law, Josefina Cardenas, and father-in-law, Elias Cardenas, several nieces and nephews, and his fur baby Auggie.

At Thomas’s request, no formal services will be held.
