Tony Gail Hayes, Sr., 82, of King, NC, passed away on Sunday, January 5, 2025, at Forsyth Medical Center.
Mr. Hayes was born to the late Ray Wilson and Ethel Irene Swisher Hayes on May 18, 1942. He was the widow of the late Judith Gayle Hayes.
Mr. Hayes worked for Gravely Tractors for 27 faithful years and retired from Famco. He loved hunting and fishing, but his greatest joy was his family and beloved grandchildren.
In addition to his parents, Ray and Ethel Hayes, and his wife of 51 years, Judith Hayes, he was preceded in death by his brother, Thomas Wayne Hayes.
Left to cherish his memory are his son, Tony Hayes, Jr.; two grandchildren, Brittney Fortune (Joshua) and T.J. Hayes (Dannielle); three great-grandchildren, Kennedy Drane, Kentland Drane, and Rhett Hayes; two brothers, Johnny Ray Hayes (Mary Jane) and Eric Myron Hayes; along with many nieces and nephews.
The family will receive friends and loved ones at Slate Funeral Home on Wednesday, January 8, 2024, from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m.
A graveside service will be held at Westlawn Gardens of Memory at 2:00 p.m. on Thursday, January 9, 2025, with Rev. Mike Quesenberry officiating.
