Vonnie Marie (Mannring) George

Pinnacle – Vonnie Marie George, 84, of Pinnacle, NC passed away peacefully at Walnut Cove Health and Rehabilitation, on Saturday, June 24, 2023.

Ms. George was born in Forsyth County on March 1, 1939. She was the widow of the late Alton George. She was of the Baptist faith.

In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by her sisters, Pat Manning, and Evelyn Wooten, her brother, Vestal Manning, and granddaughter, Angel Marie George.

Left to cherish her memory are her children: Ridley George (Kathy), Vonda Johnston, Tina Willis, Wendy George Gregg (John), Tammy Hepler (Rick), and Alton Gray George, Jr. (Wannetta); her grandchildren: Brandy George, Brian Lewis, Rodney Lewis, Christy Hepler, Joy Hepler, Ricky Hepler, Wesley Hepler, and Zackary Lee George; along with eleven great-grandchildren and four great-great-grandchildren.

The family will receive friends and loved ones from 1:00 PM until 2:00 PM at Slate Funeral Home. The funeral service will begin at 2:00 PM in the Slate Funeral Home chapel. Interment will follow at Brown Mountain Baptist Church Cemetery.
