Walter Rayford McKinney

Walter Rayford McKinney, 93, of King, NC passed away on Friday, April 18, 2025, at Piney Grove Nursing and Rehabilitation in Kernersville.

Mr. McKinney was born on March 23, 1932, in Stokes County, NC, to the late Walter Robert and Mary Susan Nunn McKinney.  He retired from Stroh’s Brewery.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his son, Rondald Dean McKinney, and a daughter-in-law, Kathy McKinney.

Left to cherish his memory is his wife, Shirley McKinney; his son, Randy Rayford McKinney; a daughter, Shannon McKinney; three brothers, Carlton McKinney (Janet), Ledford “Let” McKinney, and R. F. McKinney (Mary); a sister, Kate Douglas; three grandchildren: Chase McKinney, Kellin McKinney (Joe Moulden), and Graeme Rieser; and three great-grandchildren: Parker McKinney, Presley McKinney, and Clark Moulden.
