Wayne Douglas Buchanan, 69, of King, NC, passed away on Saturday, March 14, 2026, at Novant Health Forsyth Medical Center, with his family by his side.
Mr. Buchanan was born in Forsyth County, NC, to the late Edison Kern “E.K.” and Cleo Grace Warner Buchanan on August 30, 1956. He retired from Tri-Flex Hose and Fittings, but he was a “jack of all trades.” He enjoyed working on his home, and when others needed help with theirs, he was the first to step up. He enjoyed studying history and loved listening to classic rock music. He thoroughly enjoyed his retirement, spending precious time with his family and relaxing at Oak Island or somewhere on a beach.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother, Larry Buchanan, a nephew, Adam Snyder, and his sisters-in-law, Sandra Buchanan and Karen Roehrle.
Left to cherish his memory are his loving wife, Tina M. Buchanan, his daughter, Caitlin Douglas (Tyler), his sister, Linda Springs, his sister-in-law, Tara Kistner, a niece, Cristina Creasman (Barry), a nephew, Paul Snyder, along with his special close friends, the Jenkins Family, and numerous other family and friends.
The family wishes to express their gratitude to the nurses and staff of the Novant Health Forsyth Medical Center Acute Palliative Care Unit.
A Celebration of Life will be held at a later date.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Trellis Supportive Care, 101 Hospice Ln. Winston-Salem, NC 27103.
