Wayne Thomas Young, Sr

Wayne Thomas Young, Sr., 77, passed away on Wednesday, March 5, 2025, at his home peacefully.  He was born May 2, 1947, to Ralph Thomas and Dorothy Mounce Young. He was a successful general manager at Town and Country Ford for 25 plus years, along with other positions there.

Surviving are his sons; Wayne Thomas “Tommy” Young of the home, Leslie Thomas Young (Alyssa), sister; Brenda Burgin, granddaughter; Austin Jobe, grandson; Hayden Young, grandson, Nathan Bethea, granddaughter, Ava Bethea, along with many nieces, nephews, and cousins. Meeting him at heaven’s gates is his wife Bettyann Young and many other loved ones.

The family will receive friends and loved ones on Monday, March 10, 2025, from 1:00 – 2:00 pm at Slate Funeral Home, a funeral service will immediately follow at 2:00 pm.
