Wendell Gerald McKinney

Westfield – Wendell Gerald McKinney, 75, of Westfield, NC passed away at his home on Friday, July 14, 2023, with his beloved wife and family by his side.

Mr. McKinney was born on October 1, 1947, in Forsyth County, NC, to the late Robert Baxter and Delia (Bennett) McKinney. He was a member of Stoney Ridge Baptist Church. He retired from RJ Reynolds in 1998 and then spent his time riding his Harley and his tractor and spoiling his grandchildren. He enjoyed going to the YMCA and going out to eat. He deeply loved his wife Annie above all.

Those left to cherish his memory are his wife, Annie Ruth Booth McKinney, his children: Melissa McKinney Wood (Brock), Robert Gerald McKinney (Jerri), and Bradley David McKinney (Krystal Lynn), his brother, Kenneth Lee McKinney, his grandchildren: Isaac Jordon Wood, Jamison Douglas Wood, Case William McKinney, and Mack Weston McKinney, along with his special nieces and nephews.

The family will receive friends and loved ones from 2:00 PM until 3:00 PM on Tuesday, July 18, 2023, at Stoney Ridge Baptist Church with funeral services beginning at 3:00 PM, with Pastor Lynn Rushing. Interment will follow in the church cemetery.
