William "Peanut" Newman

King – William Ray Newman “Peanut” age 72, of King, NC, passed away on March 5, 2022.

Mr. Newman was born on November 4, 1949.  He was a loving son, brother, uncle, and friend to so many.  Peanut never spoke an unkind word about anyone and was a kind soul.

He is preceded in death by his mother, Mae Ola Gordon Newman, and his sister, Mittie Newman Barr.

Peanut loved his family and cherished being surrounded by them.  He will forever be in the hearts of those that knew and loved him. 

Those left to cherish his memory are his brothers and sisters: Jimmy Newman, Joann Barnes (John Wayne), Nancy Bennett, Minnie Newman of Charleston, SC, Elizabeth Newman, David Newman, Barbara Anderson, and Marie Handy; his nieces and nephews: Joan and Joe Hooker, Courtney and Wesley Oliver of Belmont, NC,  Christopher Barr, Jeremiah Barr (Heather), Brooke and Bryce Alexander, Austin Handy, Jacob Handy, Matthew Shore, Felicia Brown of Charleston, SC, Madison Blackwell, of Charleston, SC, and Jessica Blackwell of Los Angeles, CA.; along with his great nieces and nephews: Amanda Anderson, Emily Oliver of Belmont, NC, Isabella Brown of Charleston, SC, and Walker Brown of Casper, Wyoming. 

A family service will be held at 2:00 PM, on Wednesday, March 9, 2022, at the family home located at 5852 NC 66 South, King, NC.
